GEAR UP Manoa (GUM) is a US DOE funded program through the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa to provide innovative events and activities to support college and career readiness. Our GUM team works with students at Waipahu High School in the class of 2024 and their families.

JOIN GEAR UP CLUB

Thank you to everyone who came to our first club meeting! We hope you come out to our upcoming events!

GEAR UP Club is an organization that helps students pursue college and career goals. The purpose of the club is to supplement GEAR UP Manoa through college and career preparation and academic readiness and social activities. Activities sponsored by GEAR UP Club are not planned exclusively for GEAR UP students. However, the goal is to get as much participation from GEAR UP students as possible. Anyone from the Class of 2024 is welcome to join GEAR UP Club!

All members are required to submit $5.00 in club dues upon application. Collected dues go towards the funding of activities, events, and potentially shirts for students in the graduating class of 2024 as part of GEAR UP Club. This form will allow us to further communicate with those who would like to join our club. We will notify you of any further requirements to join the club officially.

NATIONAL GEAR UP WEEK

We learned what schools and majors everyone is thinking about, what we might be worried about, and what people are getting excited for after they graduate! We also had a scavenger hunt about the price of colleges on island and the mainland!

CULTURE FEST!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for I Heart KCC and Campus Beautification!

We were able to tour the Health Science building at KCC, learned about their majors & programs, and much more!

Campus Beautification was our first event as GEAR UP Club! We may have ran out of paint but we became master scrapers and painters! Thank you for all your hard work.
